I ordered this kit, part #8082, directly from Miller Engineering. It was a very easy process, and the package arrived just a few days later in excellent condition. This is a photo of the kit box.

Inside the box you will find a simple instruction insert, the actual barber shop sign (the part that you hang outside the building), and a bag containing the electronics.

It is very easy to use. The barber shop sign slides into the connector on the multi-stranded wire. It is delicate, so you have to be careful. The instructions tell you the orientation the sign should be in. The battery box needs three AAA batteries (not included in the package). There is an on/off switch on the board that turns the sign on. There is also a push button that you can press to change the sign's animation. There are 46 patterns pre-programmed into the board, so you can play around and find the one you like the best. I bought this one for my S-scale barber shop building that I am building. The sign measures 9-scale feet in S-scale from tip to tip, so it is quite large, but it is the smallest one they make.
