This section is going to be a harbor scene, so I am installing the supports for it.
On the other side of the large river, I measured and cut a new sheet of plywood to serve as the foundation for the track that's going to be put there.
I measured and cut the plywood for the harbor above-the-water ground scene.
And then I cut the sheet for the water surface. It matches the vertical location of the large river sheet to the left.
I plan to have the track approach the harbor from two sides, because there's not enough space to get to all of the area of the harbor. I built two turnouts, and then connecting some flex track to it to see how this will work.
I liked the idea, so I put some tape on the mainline track and then applied some scenery materials. The styrene between the back track and the backdrop will be the concrete flooring of backlots of industries to be mounted flat against the backdrop.
With the mainline rebuilt, I then focused on the scenery base in the corner between the harbor and the large river.
After the cardboard strips were glued in place, I then applied the plaster cloth.
And some basic scenery to make it look nice.
