The PRR "Decapod" class I1s was introduced in 1916. A total of 598 I1s locomotives were built; 123 at the PRR's Juniata Shops, and 475 by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1922/23. The engine's maximum speed was 50mph. It wasn't fast, but it had a tremendous pulling power. It had 62" driver wheels and 33" pilot wheels. The locomotive measured 46'10" long and the tender measured 30'7", for a combined total of coupled-length of 77'6".
