Early in 2024, this SouthWind Models brass model showed up in my mailbox one day. It was a generous gift from a fellow S-scale modeler who is leaving the hobby due to age. He knew I modeled the PRR and he knew I would appreciate it and take good care of the car.

These 4-bay models were produced in 1996, and were available to modelers either painted and lettered, or unpainted bare brass.
I have done nothing to this model. I do not know its history, as far as whether it was custom painted and decorated, or it was factory-painted and decorated, as the model was sold both ways. I will remove the coupler's magnetic uncoupling bar as that is my layout's standard. On the side of the car there is a decal that states "P57 6-32". I don't know what that means, but the "6-32" looks an awful lot like a date, maybe the date the car was last updated to the PRR's latest standards. Either way, since I model 1924 and the car was originally built in 1919, "32" is not a good fit, so I'll remove that some time in the future.
