This is a high-quality book with color photos showing lots of model (and many prototype) photos of the trees, including step-by-step photos. Because the author is British, the prototype photos and some of the materials used have a decidedly European flavor, but most of the trees are also found in the U.S. and a substitute for some of the materials is fairly easy to find. If you are seriously interested in creating good-quality model trees and willing to put in the time, this book (and the second one) are well worth the investment. If you just want to have a couple of generic trees, these books are probably overkill. I am happy to have them. These books are hard to get in the U.S. I got mine from International Hobbies in Auburn, California (out of business)
