ALCo RS-1
This chapter covers the first Alco road switcher, which the PRR purchased in 1948, 1950, 1951, and 1952. Includes photos, listing of all road numbers, and the PRR Alco RS-1 specifications. All but one made it to the Penn Central era.

ALCo RS-2
The PRR didn't buy any RS-2s from Alco directly, but instead leased and then subsequently bought six of them from the Delaware & Hudson. None made it to the Penn Central era. Includes photos, listing of all road numbers, and the PRR Alco RS-2 specifications.

ALCo RS-3
The PRR bought 99 RS-3s from 1951 to 1953, and another 16 in 1955 and 1956. All but six made it to the Penn Central merger. Includes photos, listing of all road numbers, and the PRR Alco RS-3 specifications.

ALCo RS-11 (DL-701)
The PRR bought 29 of these units, which were more powerful than the RS-3, but they were lighter. These were bought in 1956 and 1957, and made it to the PC era. Includes photos, listing of all road numbers, and the PRR Alco RS-11 specifications.

ALCo RSD-5
In 1952-3 the PRR bought six of these six-axle engines, and all of them made it to the PC era. Includes photos, listing of all road numbers, and the PRR Alco RSD-5 specifications.
