The L-shaped 14' x 15' layout was built into a building in Edward's backyard and features the Virginia & Truckee in around 1885. Most of the structures are wood and many are scratchbuilt. The layout is mostly finished.

Two people in two states built a 10' x 20' Z-scale layout together that is an example showing that operations, realistic scenery, and craftsmanship can be applied to this small scale. Includes lots of close-up photos and a trackplan.

Describes how the author "added" operations to a small 6' x 13' HO-scale layout. He established a list of industries that need to be serviced by the rails and determined the flow of traffic. Based on that he developed a train schedule. He describes the Freight Car Card Forwarding System by Micro Mark and the wooden boxes he made to hold those cards.
