The construction begins with the center sill, floor support, brake system, body bolster, side sills, coupler-mounting pads, painting the frame, and floor construction. The includes a large number of diagrams, a parts list, and some model and prototype photos. The underframe was used for box cars and reefers of that same era, so this article can be used to scratchbuild those as well. Includes a sidebar what PRR "freight-car red" is and how we can model it.
