The American Models 1985 new hopper is based on a Unicast 55-ton outside-braced two-bay hopper. The author describes optional steps the modeler can take to make the model more detailed, covering grab irons, steps, couplers, brake details, cross-braces support, hopper door hardware, ladders, interior braces, glad hands, and painting the model.
